A £16m masterplan by CBRE Global Investors will create further retail space at the centre
The Belfast property and asset management team of commercial property agent Lambert Smith Hampton has been appointed to manage a north London shopping centre.
The team has been appointed as management agent on Angel Central Shopping Centre in Islington by CBRE Global Investors.
The Angel Central is a major shopping destination in Islington, close to Angel tube station.
It has a strong retail and leisure mix with tenants including clothing giant Uniqlo, The 02 Academy, Vue Cinema, luxury toiletries chain L’Occitane, noodle restaurant Wagamama and fitness operator FRAME.
A £16m masterplan by CBRE Global Investors, which is due to complete in November, will create further retail, additional leisure and restaurant space plus an outdoor terrace area accessed via a new link bridge.
Phase one investment works included the redesign of an existing car park into new retail and leisure space.
And a new 15,500 sq ft flagship retail unit for Uniqlo has also been created.
Both developments launched late last year.
The second phase of the transformation includes the elevation of the 12-tonne Angel Wings sculpture at the centre of the scheme.
Gary Nesbitt, head of property and asset management at LSH in Belfast, said: We are delighted to be appointed on Angel Central, particularly at such an exciting time for the scheme following significant investment from the landlord. CBRE GI has worked hard to elevate the shopping experience at this centre with additional space and a new layout.
He said, we very much look forward to being part of the successful future of this landmark scheme.
