All the apartments are available through help to buy schemes

Optivo has unveiled its flagship property development called Home X. The 369 new homes will create a new community in Brighton as part of the wider £150 million regeneration project of the former Preston Barracks site.

The development includes studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments.

The starting price for a studio apartment is £231,000, while one and two bed apartments are available for £285,000 and £381,000 respectively.

All are available through help to buy schemes.

The new community will have landscaped outdoor spaces and flexible workspaces. Residents will also benefit from a concierge service in the communal space, a wellness area, bike and car club membership and allotment space for growing herbs.

Optivo director of sales and marketing Rich Login said he looks toward to creating a new neighbourhood for the city.

We are excited to be a part of one of Brighton’s largest regeneration schemes, alongside U+I, Brighton and Hove City Council and the University of Brighton, he said.

Home X and the wider regeneration of retail, workspace and landscaping will help put this part of Lewes Road on the map again, and make it a new destination for the city and its residents, he said.

Home X properties are on the market through Savills.

Tom Bryant, head of new homes for the south east at Savills, said Brighton has struggled to deliver homes to meet the identified needs in recent years.

This is the first new neighbourhood for some time, he said. Having such a great number of new apartments at Home X is really what has been needed for many to be able to get a foot on the ladder and make home ownership in Brighton possible for first time buyers.
