London stocks higher, brokers drive movers ahead of UK construction PMI

Stocks in London were mostly higher on Tuesday morning, with broker rating changes driving some movers, as investors await the Markit UK construction Purchasing Managers’ Index at 0930 BST.

The FTSE 100 was up 0.5%, or 37.96 points, at 7,320.65. The FTSE 250 was up 0.4% at 19,029.66 points, and the AIM All-Share was down 0.1% at 928.38.

The BATS UK 100 index was up 0.4% at 12,403.92, and the BATS 250 was up 0.4% at 17,277.03, but the BATS Small Companies was down 0.1% at 11,415.47. In mainland Europe, the CAC 40 in Paris was up 0.2% and the DAX 30 in Frankfurt was up 0.1%
