Bellway Wessex developers say work is `progressing well` as they report 20 of the 44 private homes have sold.
Nearly a quarter of the homes have now been built with nine of them already accommodated whilst construction on the remaining properties continues.
The Meadow View site will comprise of 44 properties for private sale and a further 29 affordable properties which will be made available through rent or shared ownership for those in the local area.
Bellway expects the homes to be fully completed by the end of the year.
The housebuilder has opened a four-bedroom Goldsmith show home to view by appointment only and interested buyers can also explore the home through a virtual tour on Bellway’s website.
Kim Caldwell, sales director at Bellway Wessex said: As construction work continues to progress well at Meadow View, we are edging ever closer to forging a new community here in Romsey. The first residents are now settled into their homes, and we remain on schedule to have all buyers moved in by the end of the year.
There is a particular demand for four-bedroom properties at Meadow View from families who are relocating into the area, wanting bigger homes in a more exclusive development, she said.
All of the homes at Meadow View are part of our Artisan Collection, which is the result of two years of development and decades of customer input. This new range of house types – which combines traditional craftsmanship and attention to detail with the very latest construction techniques – has proved extremely popular with residents, she said.
Caldwell said buyers here are also drawn to Meadow View’s location. Romsey is an attractive market town which is served well by easy road access into Southampton and Winchester, while the development is situated less than two miles away from Romsey railway station.
