A former pottery factory which has produced tiles for some of the world’s most famous buildings is going under the hammer.
The former Minton Hollins Tileworks, in Stoke-on-Trent, has been put up for auction with a guide price of upwards of £1.45m.
The two-storey building – which is based on a 1.5-acre site off Shelton Old Road – was formerly occupied by tile-making firm Minton Hollins & Co which was established in 1845. The Victorian building comprises a large, two-storey office building and 107 car parking spaces.
Its famous tiles have been installed at the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Houses of Parliament, in London, as well as the US Capitol building.
The company – which also owned the now demolished Minton Pottery Factory – merged with Royal Doulton in the 1980s and the building was listed and preserved.
It underwent a major refurbishment last summer and is now entirely occupied by debt collection and credit management agency Advantis Credit Ltd which has been based at the site for 14 years, having recently expanded into the whole building from just the first floor.
The company signed a 10-year lease on the building in July 2020 meaning it is expected to remain based at the site until at least July 2030.
The building is now being sold by Acuitus at online auction taking place at 2pm on Thursday, March 25.

He said: We’re delighted to be able to bring this iconic Staffordshire property to the market, which has been extensively refurbished by the landlord prior to the tenant taking a new lease on the entire property in July 2020.
