A housebuilder is offering free expert advice for property investment UK to those looking to start or expand their portfolio in Cambridgeshire, specifically in the new, sustainable town of Northstowe.

The event, to be held on 28/29 November, includes a free webinar and advice from Jason Blunden, managing director of Evolve Financial Solutions.

Those interested in finding out more about investment opportunities in the new Cambridgeshire town of Northstowe can receive free expert advice at Linden Homes’ Investor Weekend.

The housebuilder, part of the newly formed Vistry Group with Bovis Homes and Vistry Partnerships, is hosting the event in an effort to highlight the strength of the local housing market.

Over the duration of the weekend, prospective investors can make a private appointment to view the development, albeit with strict health and safety measures in place to keep Covid-19 at bay.

The free webinar is hosted by Linden Homes and Blunden, whose company is a national mortgage broker which specialises in the new-build market.

The online event will discuss the two and three-bedroom homes available at The Boulevards, as well as the benefits of becoming a landlord in the current market and information about buy-to-let mortgages.

Low-interest rates on savings accounts have led to many people looking for alternative options to save and invest their money for the future, the most popular being property investment, Blunden said. Now is a great time to make the most of the low-interest rate on borrowing and purchase a home to rent, with many landlords in the area receiving around a 5% return on their money.

He says another of the benefits of joining the investment market now is the stamp duty holiday, which is in place until the end of March next year.

While those purchasing a buy-to-let home will still have to pay the additional 3% stamp duty due on second and holiday homes, they will still be able to make significant savings. This, Blunden added, is ideal both for landlords to expand their portfolio and for first-time investors to secure their first buy-to-let property.

This is a great time to buy, but purchasing an investment home is very different to buying your own, and you have to remember to purchase with your head, not your heart, he commented.

Just 10 miles from Cambridge, Northstowe is a modern new town with schools, a GP surgery, convenience stores and community facilities.

Nic Chapman, sales and marketing director of Linden Homes East Midlands, said: At Linden Homes, we are proud to continue offering these online events so that we can keep our customers well-informed while also offering a safe space for both them and our staff.

She added: We’re really excited to be hosting this event so that those interested in investing in property at The Boulevards can find out more from us, as well as having the opportunity to speak with an independent financial adviser for expert advice on the investment market.

Linden Homes is building a selection of two, three and four-bedroom homes at The Boulevards, with prices starting from £285,000.
