More than 1,000 staff who work for utility company Cadent are set to relocate to a new regional headquarters on the edge of Coventry.
The construction of Cadent’s new premises at Prospero Ansty Park has now reached practical completion and later this year the park’s newest occupiers will be settling into their new 90,000 sq ft premises as they relocate around 1,000 staff from across the region.
Cadent is the UK’s biggest gas distribution network and manages a network of more than 80,000 miles of pipes transporting gas to 11 million UK customers. Cadent said the company’s move-in to Ansty will begin this month.
The new Cadent headquarters is the second high-profile development developer Manse Opus has brought forward at Prospero Ansty Park, following the completion of Meggitt’s 495,000 sq ft super facility in 2020. As with other Manse Opus developments at the Park, Cadent’s new office has been designed with sustainability in mind.
Ranjit Blythe, chief of staff, Cadent said: We see this move as an investment in our people, our culture and a critical step to create even more collaborative and sustainable operations to better serve our customers. This month we’ll be starting the exciting move into our new purpose-built office that will bring many of our functions under one roof by relocating colleagues across from Hinckley and Coventry.
Sustainability for us has been at the heart of what we’ve strived to create here at Ansty Park as we plan towards a net zero future. To reduce the build’s carbon footprint, we’ve sourced 85 per cent of interior materials within a 100-mile radius and included the latest technology and energy saving measures from photovoltaic roof panels, to rain water harvesting that will give us an A-rated EPC, Blythe said.
This is the beginning of a new chapter for Cadent and our colleagues, and we look forward to calling Ansty Park our new home. It’s been quite a journey for us and we’d like to applaud everyone who has been involved from the architects, our build partners and project teams who have worked hard together to create a truly unique and outstanding building, Blythe said.
