The property developer behind Derby’s Nightingale Quarter development has put its final houses up for sale at the site.

Work on the £150 million city centre development on the former Derbyshire Royal Infirmary site, off London Road, started last year and is continuing to progress. It is one of the biggest city centre regeneration sites in the UK. Work on the development stopped when the first lockdown began last March, but resumed in summer.

Covering more than 18.5 acres, about the size of nine football pitches, the site is being transformed into 796 new homes by Wavensmere Homes.

The property developer recently announced that its first apartment building of 140 properties, Strutt House, has sold out. The apartment complex features a mix of one and two-bedroom properties. They are available in a variety of sizes and layouts.

Now, the final batch of 34 houses has gone up for sale. Prices start from £236,000, and the firm’s bosses say almost half of them are already reserved.

James Dickens, Wavensmere’s managing director, said: We are thrilled to launch the last opportunity to buy houses at Nightingale Quarter following its huge success in the last year.

The development will create a new vibrant community giving buyers all they could want on their doorstep. This, combining with the high-quality spec, is why we believe it has been so desirable, he said.

The infirmary’s pepper pot buildings are being retained for community use, with residents having access to numerous facilities, including a café, exhibition space and meeting rooms.

Other facilities include cycle paths, an outdoor gym and children’s play area, as well as six acres of green open space.
